What a blessing Mayor Menino has been to the people of Boston. Mayor Menino did not take his job as just doing work. He mixed and mingle with the people of Boston. He was a friend to each of us. Some might not have met him personally but within the 20 years he served the city of Boston everyone knows who he is. He made time for events that you might not have expect him to show up for just because he is the mayor but he did and that's what made him exceptional. One man said that he invited the mayor to celebrate his mother and father 50 year wedding anniversary and was shocked when the mayor actually showed up. Unfortunately he was receiving treatment for his illness and discontinued it recently to spend time with his family. May he Rest in Peace.
