Mavado has been reportedly been residing for almost 2 years now since singing with American record producer DJ Khaled's record label. On Sunday January 11 there was a petition created on the US government website, the White House called "We the People". We the people is dedicated to helping Americans find the words to make their voices heard, no matter the circumstance.
The Petition was signed by a concern citizen Trudy A. Brown from Gaplan, Maryland US. The petition states that " Reggae artiste David Brooks is a non citizen felon residing in the USA. He was convicted in Jamaica for serious assault...It is grossly unfair that undocumented immigrants with NO serious criminal records are deported daily while convicted felon, such as Mavado, has carte blanche to live and work here. So far since the creation of the petition on Sunday there have been a total of seven signatures.
In recent news Mavado has filed a lawsuit against Member of Parliament for West Rural St Andrew, Paul Buchanan, after issues developed in a $20 million housing deal between the two parties.
